Accessing Government Funding
Funding Support for ADHD Coaching Through JobAccess (EAF)
If you’re an Australian resident aged 14 or older and working 8 hours per week or more, you may be able to receive up to $1,682.77 per year to support ADHD coaching.
This funding is available through the Employee Assistance Fund (EAF), part of JobAccess.
Most applications take less than 30 minutes, and JobAccess usually follows up within 24–48 hours.

Do I Need To Tell My Employer About My ADHD?
No.
You are not required to disclose your diagnosis to your employer to apply for or receive EAF funding.
However, JobAccess will need to contact your employer to verify your employment details, so they will be informed that you have applied for the EAF (not why). You can call JobAccess on 1800 464 800 to discuss any concerns about disclosure before applying
What You'll Need to Prepare
Before starting your application, ensure you have:
MyGovID
Document confirming ADHD diagnosis
(Contact your GP, psychologist, or psychiatrist if you need a copy.)Proof of Australian residency
(Temporary Protection Visa and Safe Haven Enterprise Visa holders as of 1 June 2021 may also qualify.)Evidence of current work — employed or self-employed — with work expected to continue for the next 13 weeks
For self-employed applicants:
Proof of working 8+ hours weekly over the past 13 weeks
Income equal to or above the National Minimum Wage ($24.10/hr)
How to Apply (Simple Step-by-Step Guide)
Log in using your MyGovID.
Select “Mental Health” as the support category.
Enter $1,682.77 as the support amount requested.
Upload your ADHD diagnosis document.
Submit employment or self-employment evidence.

After submission, the EAF team usually responds within 24–48 hours.
When they get in touch, I will provide a tailored overview explaining how ADHD coaching will support your work performance and role requirements.
How Reimbursements Work
Once JobAccess approves your application:
You pay for your coaching sessions.
JobAccess reimburses you directly after you upload the invoice.
Application Errors?
Some applicants may see an error during the online application due to recent updates made within the ATO/myGov systems.
JobAccess has provided a temporary workaround guide with steps to resolve this issue while the update is being fixed.
What Counts as Acceptable Employment Evidence
Your document only needs to show:
Your name
Job title
Company name & ABN
Start date
Hours per week or contract terms
Employer’s signature
(This is the key requirement.)
If you do not have a signed contract, you can ask for:
A formal employment statement
A Letter of Offer
A confirmation letter from HR
Any document showing your employer’s signature
For Self-Employed Applicants
You will need to provide two forms of evidence:
Proof of work hours
Showing 8+ hours per week over the last 13 weeks.

Showing earnings at or above the minimum rate of $24.10 per hour.
Accepted documents include:
Invoices, sales records, or client contracts
Income statement from your accountant
Recent ATO records (tax return or income statement via myGov)
Any acceptable documentation that shows income earned
JobAccess will calculate your average hourly income over 13 weeks.
